What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Vaginal Rejuvenation is often used to refer to several surgical procedures designed to tighten the vagina, improve the female genital’s appearance, and to enhance sensitivity in the region. Damage resulting from childbirth, as well as aging, can often leave the vagina with poor muscle tone, strength, and control. This is referred to as ‘vaginal relaxation’ and can result in discomfort, and decreased sexual satisfaction. More than just improving the physical symptoms, some vaginal rejuvenation procedures can also improve the visual aesthetic of the labia and vagina – increasing self-confidence, as well as restoring a sense of sexiness and desire. Some specific procedures include Vaginoplasty, Labiaplasty, Clitoral Unhooding, and G-Spot Injections.
What is Vaginoplasty?
Vaginoplasty is a surgical tightening of the vaginal canal, entrance, or both.
What are the common reasons women request a Vaginoplasty?
• Loss of sensation in the vagina
• Limited to no pleasure during sexual intercourse
• Feeling ‘loose’ and no longer in control of vaginal muscles
• Your partner/penis ‘falling out’ during intercourse
• Can not keep tampons in place
What is Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure designed to reduce a large or misshapen labia. This procedure will improve the appearance of the labia by diminishing its size and correcting any irregularities.
What are the common reasons to have a Labiaplasty?
• Having an enlarged labia minor and/or majora, which can be uncomfortable in clothing
• Experiencing sexual discomfort due to the long labia
• Unsightly looking labia, which may even show through a bathing suit or jeans
What is Clitoral Unhooding?
Clitoral Unhooding involves removing some of the tissue covering the clitoris.
Who benefits from Clitoral Unhooding?
Some women find there is an excess of skin covering this area, impeding their sensitivity and sexual pleasure. Clitoral unhooding can be helpful to increase the stimulation of the clitoral node, which in turn can result in increased orgasms.
What are G-Spot Injections?
G-Spot Injections involve injecting collagen directly into the G-Spot. This is to increase the
G-Spot’s sensitivity and its size, enhancing sexual satisfaction.
How long does it take for the procedure and how long will the results last?
G-Spot Injections are done in one of our state-of-the-art exam rooms and take only minutes to complete. To maintain their effect, repeat injections will be required about every three months.
What are some of the risks of Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Every surgical procedure comes with some risks. It is very important to be aware of these and discuss them with your doctor beforehand. Vaginoplasty and Labiaplasty are considered relatively safe procedures, and have actually been used by plastic surgeons for a long time.
Risks Include:
• Infection
• Scarring
• Pain and discomfort
Another important risk to consider – a low-quality doctor can lead to a poorly done surgery. Be careful when choosing your surgeon; always do your homework to make sure you are getting the best possible care. When working with an area of the body with such importance, you should only trust the very best cosmetic surgeon possible.
How many times will I have to come to the office for a procedure?
You need to come in for a consultation prior to the surgery; try to plan on doing this two weeks beforehand, just in case any medications need to be stopped. Then you will come in for 2-4 follow up visits after your procedure.
How long do these procedures take?
Depending on the woman and the specific procedure, they will take approximately one to two hours in surgery. Vaginoplasty and Labiaplasty are outpatient procedures and you will get to go home the same day.
Where does Dr. Vitenas perform these procedures?
The Vaginoplasty and Labiaplasty are performed in one of Dr. Vitenas’ private surgical suites at the Houston Surgery Center, conveniently located in the same building as Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery. G-Spot Injections are done in a comfortable treatment room at Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery.
What sort of anesthesia is available?
Often the procedures are performed using local anesthesia with light sedation but they can also be done under general anesthesia, if you prefer. Some types of anesthesia will be dependant on the exact procedure. Talk to Dr. Vitenas about your available choices and any concerns you may have about the anesthesia.
How much discomfort can I expect during and after my Vaginal Rejuvenation?
During the Labiaplasty and Vaginoplasty procedures, you will feel no pain. Mild to moderate discomfort can be expected though, after the initial local anesthetic wears off. We assure you that any pain you experience during our procedures will be well controlled through medication. All discomfort usually wears off in a couple of days.
What is the recovery period for Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Your body will need to heal after your procedure. Returning to work depends on each individual but is generally allowed within 3-7 days. You will need to wait for about 6 weeks after surgery before having any kind of sexual intercourse.
How long after my surgery until I can see the final results?
This varies on the extent of the specific procedure and individual healing. Initially, there will be bruising and swelling but these disappear in a week or so. A couple of months after surgery, you will be able to appreciate the full results.
Will there be large scars?
While small scars are normal, Dr. Vitenas always keeps incisions minimal and hides them in the natural lines of your skin. Over time these will fade away and not be noticeable.
How much does each procedure cost?
Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery is happy to offer 12 month, interest free financing for your procedures through Care Credit and Chase Health Advantage. Vaginoplasty runs less than $400 a month and Labiaplasty can cost less than $300 a month.
Will insurance cover the costs of Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Usually not. Vaginal Rejuvenation procedures are considered elective and insurance plans do not cover their costs.
Can I have more than one procedure at the same time?
Yes – multiple procedures can be performed during the same operation, such as a Vaginoplasty with a Labiaplasty. At your consultation visit with Dr. Vitenas, you will be able to discuss all of your desired procedures and find out how they can be combined.
